What is Mixed Americano?

It's Lovebirds' classic name: an Americano-style rotation with one extra constraint. Every partnership pairs one player from each of two groups, so cross-group play is guaranteed every round.

Does Lovebirds have to be split by gender?

No, the two groups are just labels. Mixed-gender doubles is the traditional use, but it also works well split by skill level, handedness, or anything else you want guaranteed cross-pairing on.

How many players do you need for Lovebirds?

4 to 100, split evenly: 2 to 50 players per group, with both groups the same size.

How does the partner rotation work?

Each round pairs a different player from group A with a different player from group B, so across the session everyone partners every opposite-group player once before anything repeats.

How does Lovebirds score matches?

Points track you individually, not your pairing, since your cross-group partner changes every round: 2 for a win, 0 for a loss, 3 instead of 2 when you beat a higher-rated side. Beating a lower-rated side still pays the normal 2.

Can I add or remove players mid-session in Lovebirds?

Yes. The organizer resplits the two groups from the party page: future rounds redraw against the new groups, while every round already played keeps its result.
