FAQ

What is free-play badminton?

It's badminton without a set schedule: players pick their own matches, and results get logged by hand. Unlike Round Robin, which locks in a fixed rotation, Freebird leaves every matchup up to the group.

Do I need an account to play Freebird?

No. Freebird is Robin's no-login free play mode: create a party, share one link with your group, and everyone's straight in, no signups or app installs.

Who can log match scores in Freebird?

Anyone with the party link, by default. The organizer can lock entry to themselves in settings, then grant specific players the right to log scores even while it's locked.

Can I add a player to a Freebird party after it starts?

Yes. The organizer can stage roster and skill-level changes any time from the party page and apply them with one tap, taking effect immediately since Freebird has no schedule to redraw.

How does Freebird rank players fairly with different match counts?

Freebird uses a football-style table: 2 points per match win, and 3 when you beat a stronger side. Ties break on point difference (+/-), then head-to-head. Court time always pays — you can't score points without playing.

Can Freebird mix singles and doubles in the same party?

Yes. Every match is logged as either 1v1 or 2v2 from your roster, so a single Freebird party can freely mix singles and doubles all night.
